SFC Fundraising Ideas

SFC is…

Sheaves for Christ is the fundraising ministry of the General Youth Division of the United Pentecostal Church International. Since its inception in 1952, over $103 million has been raised to fund missions and ministries around the world.

  • A missionary having the vehicle he needs to carry the gospel to the furthest regions of his country.
  • A home missionary having a building so that he can share truth in his community.
  • A child finding healing and a future at Tupelo Children’s Mansion or Lighthouse Ranch for Boys.
  • A student pursuing her calling and Christian Education with a SFC Scholarship.
  • A family overcoming chemical dependency and finding restoration through Spirit of Freedom Ministries.
  • When you invest in Sheaves for Christ you intentionally answer the question “Why” and share the gospel around the world.

SFC does…

Bible Quizzing

The General Youth Division is proud to sponsor two levels of quizzing—the Intermediate Division is open to 12-14 year-olds, and the Experienced Division involves 15-18 year-olds. In addition to this, the Youth Division produces several quizzing resources that assist teams in preparing for competitions on the district and national level. To learn more about Bible Quizzing visit their page at http://seniorbiblequizzing.com/

Apostolic Youth Corps

AYC facilitates the pairing of ministry-minded Pentecostal youth with North American and international sites which need and/or desire evangelism assistance. AYC provides short term evangelism opportunities for various durations, ranging from 7-14 days; and long term assignments that range from 1-3 months. Visit http://apostolicyouthcorps.com/ for current destinations and additional information.

Campus Ministry International

CMI was formed to enable and encourage local churches to effectively reach out to the college and university populations in their vicinities with the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is done by a variety of means—including motivating districts and churches to establish and maintain campus evangelism; providing materials and training to aid in the formation of these campus ministries; acting as a clearinghouse for the gathering and distribution of new information, ideas, and materials; and establishing communication and cooperation between campus ministries in our fellowship. Get connected now at the CMI website http://www.campusnow.org

Hyphen Young Adult Ministry

Hyphen is the new ministry of the GYD that focuses on single individuals between the ages of 18-30. Hyphen seeks to bridge the gap between student ministry and adult programming. Our mission is to connect Young Adults to SERVICE with PURPOSE through RESOURCES for a MISSION. Memorize 90 (M90)

Memorize 90 (M90) is a very easy-to-use systematic Scripture Memorization program developed by the General Youth Division of the UPCI. It is also a personal devotion guide. Who is it for? It is for anyone who wants to memorize and apply Scripture, especially our target audience of teenagers and young adults. How does it work? Memorize 90 verses in 90 days. 3 months. 1 verse per day. The verses for the M90 program are selected passages from the upcoming Senior Bible Quiz season material. Memorizing these verses could give your students a head start on the Bible quiz season, but most importantly it will prepare them with the answers they need for the tests of life. This is not a program of Senior Bible Quizzing, and you do not have to have a Bible quiz team in order to participate in this program. North American Youth Congress

NAYC is the premier youth conference of the United Pentecostal Church International. As many as 18,000 young people attend this meeting and are exposed to inspirational preaching, teaching, singing, and great fellowship! NAYC takes place biannually in a city in North America and is anticipated with much excitement by young people and youth workers of the UPCI. Stay tuned for more details on the 2015 NAYC dates, location, and info.

District Projects

Forty percent of the earned SFC offering is retained in the local district to assist the funding of various projects for young people. This offering helps subsidize campground projects, Youth Conventions, Youth Camps, PK Retreats, and Young Married Seminars. Download a list of district websites here.

SFC supports…

Global Missions

Without reliable transportation, many of our missionaries would not be able to spread the Gospel into areas that have rough terrain or are far from their homes. Over 19 million dollars has been given to the Global Missions Division to purchase vehicles for missionaries. Why? Because no missionary should have to forfeit evangelizing their field of burden because of insufficient transportation. For more information about the Global Missions Division, visit www.globalmissions.com/.

North American Missions

One of the biggest challenges for a home missionary is purchasing or renovating property in order to have adequate facilities for church services. SFC provides grants of up to $10,000 to assist home missionaries in purchasing property or remodeling an existing building. This is just another way that SFC helps to expand revival across North America. Visit www.homemissionsdivision.com for more information.

Tupelo Children’s Mansion

The dissolution of the traditional family has resulted in the shattering of many young lives. With many young people subject to the problems that a broken home produces, the Mansion provides a place of solace for those who have been abandoned and abused. The General Youth Division is thrilled to partner with TCM by providing funds that support this vital ministry. For more information about Tupelo Children’s Mansion, please visit www.mansionkids.org.

Lighthouse Ranch for Boys

The purpose of Lighthouse Ranch is to heal the broken lives of young men. This healing is accomplished through therapeutic guidance methods and by the Word of God. Through the spirit of love and caring, Lighthouse Ranch has helped steer troubled boys toward living responsible and mature lives. Visit www.lighthouseranch.com for more information.

Spirit of Freedom Ministries

This ministry is a non-profit Christian organization dedicated to reaching the chemically dependent and their families with the answer to their alcohol or drug-related problems, offering materials and toll-free phone lines to assist men, women, and children across North America who desire help. Log on to www.sofm.org for more information about the ways this ministry helps rescue families from the damaging effects of chemical dependency.

Division of Education

Many students feel a calling into ministry and a desire to prepare for ministry by attending Bible college. Many of these same students face challenges in raising finances for their tuition. Fortunately, SFC has given over $950,000 to provide scholarships to qualified young people seeking to be trained for service in the kingdom of God. The General Youth Division is grateful for the opportunity to partner with these worthy recipients. Visit http://doe.upci.org/ for information about the ministry of the Division of Education.
